La última grabación de Whitney Houston llegó al público: se trata de la canción Celebrate, un dueto con Jordin Sparks, es parte de la nueva versión de Sparkle, la última película de la cantante.

El tema debutó hoy en el sitio de internet de Ryan Seacrest y estará disponible en iTunes el 5 de junio. Sparks rindió homenaje a Houston el domingo por la noche en la ceremonia de los Premios Billboard interpretando I Will Always Love You, lo que conmovió hasta las lágrimas a la hija de Houston, Bobbi Kristina.

La muerte de Houston en febrero a los 48 años se produjo justo cuando la cantante intentaba retomar su carrera y acababa de filmar Sparkle. Houston se ahogó en una bañera en Beverly Hills, California.

Las autoridades dijeron que su muerte se complicó por su consumo de cocaína y una cardiopatía. Sparkle se estrenará el 17 de agosto

Tune is from movie musical ‘Sparkle,’ which Houston had intended as her comeback vehicle. Fans of Whitney Houston have a fresh chance to celebrate the late pop diva’s voice — on an aptly named duet with Jordin Sparks from the pair’s upcoming movie, «Sparkle.»

The track, «Celebrate,» which was premiered Monday on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, was recorded just days before Houston’s death in a Beverly Hills hotel on Feb. 11 at the age of 48.

If there was any tumult in her final days, it can’t be heard in her voice on the R. Kelly-produced track — a throwback to the pop that Houston honed in the ’80s.»I celebrate YOU, you celebrate ME!'» Sparks tweeted after appearing on Seacrest’s show. «#Celebrate #Sparkle.»

Houston had intended “Sparkle,” a remake of the 1976 film, as a comeback vehicle, after her career had been stalled by drug problems. But Houston never got the chance to see the fruit of her labor: the singer accidentally drowned in a hotel room bathtub on the night before the Grammy Awards. A coroner determined cocaine use and heart disease contributed to her death.

On Feb. 7, four days earlier, the singer seemed to be in good health and good spirits when she recorded her parts for «Sparkle,» one of the producers, Harvey Mason Jr. told People magazine.
