A pesar de que la film\u00f3 cuando ya hab\u00eda cumplido 18 a\u00f1os de edad, la actriz se sinti\u00f3 avergonzada: \u201cNunca lo hab\u00eda hecho antes. Soy muy nueva en estas cuestiones. Estaba estrenando mis 18 a\u00f1os y (el desnudo) no fue f\u00e1cil. Fue un poco vergonzoso\u201d, dijo la protagonista de \u00abLa guerra de los mundos\u00bb \u00abHombre en llamas\u00bb y \u00abHounddog\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Hace dos a\u00f1os, Dakota se vio envuelta en un esc\u00e1ndalo<\/a> cuando apareci\u00f3 en la publicidad de un perfume que fue retirado en Gran Breta\u00f1a por considerarlo \u00absexualmente provocativo\u00bb e \u00abinapropiado\u00bb. En aquel entonces, la actriz apenas ten\u00eda 16 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never done that before and I\u2019m very newly allowed to do that,\u201d she told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival. \u201cI was newly 18, so yeah, it was, it\u2019s kind of a sensitive thing, but it\u2019s a part of life.\u201d <\/p>\n

The film follows Fanning and Olsen on their quest to lose their virginity but their friendship is tested when they fall for the same guy. Fanning has a sex scene with Holbrook in the film.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs in life, it\u2019s not always so perfect and glossy and seamless,\u201d Holbrook told MTV. \u201cIt\u2019s quite awkward sometimes especially with that. This film\u2019s about its going into life, first sexual experience, so it\u2019s all about the environment and not taking it too serious.\u201d <\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t Fanning\u2019s first controversial role. She came under fire in 2007 for a dramatic rape scene in the film, \u201cHounddog.\u201d Although there was no nudity or simulation of sexual acts, Fanning was 12-years-old at the time. Some critics and religious groups said she was too young to play a rape victim. Then too, she defended the film and the role, saying of the rape scene, \u201cIt\u2019s not really happening. It\u2019s a movie, and it\u2019s called acting.\u201d<\/p>\n
