La empresa tecnol\u00f3gica, que en noviembre pasado anunci\u00f3 que discontinuar\u00eda el servicio de Messenger, envi\u00f3 un mensaje por correo electr\u00f3nico a sus usuarios para notificarles la fecha l\u00edmite, por lo que la lista de sus contactos aparecer\u00e1 autom\u00e1ticamente en el software de Skype.<\/p>\n

El gigante del software adquiri\u00f3 Skype en 2011 por 8,500 millones de d\u00f3lares. La fusi\u00f3n de este servicio con Hotmail permitir\u00e1 dar un mayor soporte en dispositivos, mensajes instant\u00e1neos, video y llamadas a n\u00fameros fijos y m\u00f3viles en un solo lugar, seg\u00fan Microsoft.<\/p>\n

Los usuarios de Messenger s\u00f3lo necesitan actualizar a la m\u00e1s reciente versi\u00f3n de Skype y despu\u00e9s registrarse con su cuenta Microsoft: los contactos de Messenger estar\u00e1n ah\u00ed.<\/p>\n

Si ya usan Skype y Messenger, los usuarios pueden fusionar ambas cuentas. Una vez completado el proceso de instalaci\u00f3n, se dar\u00e1 la bienvenida a los usuarios en Skype con su lista de amigos sincronizada y lista para enviar mensajes instant\u00e1neos de inmediato.<\/p>\n

El servicio de Messenger inici\u00f3 en 1998 y pese a su desaparici\u00f3n seguir\u00e1 activo en China.<\/p>\n

\"\"As announced last November, Microsoft has been planning to discontinue Windows Live Messenger in 2013, moving all users over to Skype sometime in Q1 of this year. Today, Microsoft emailed all 100 million+ Messenger users to announce that the company will retire Messenger on March 15, after which users must use Skype. Today\u2019s email to users went out with the subject, \u201cImportant info about your Messenger account\u201d, along with a bold statement in the email announcing that \u201cIt\u2019s time to update Messenger to Skype!\u201d As this shift has been in the news for several months, the email didn\u2019t come as a surprise to many users \u2013 but as March 15 is not exactly very far into the future, those who weren\u2019t aware will now be forced to make a quick (and perhaps rough) transition.<\/p>\n

However, Microsoft suggests this transition should be easy. In the email to users, the company says:
\n\u201cUpdate to Skype and sign in using a Microsoft Account (same as your Messenger ID) and all your Messenger contacts will be at your fingertips. You\u2019ll be able to instant message and video chat with them just like before, and also discover new ways of staying in touch with Skype on your mobile and tablet.\u201d<\/p>\n

As we previously mentioned, these \u201cnew ways\u201d include calling landlines and mobiles all in one place; sharing screens; video calling on mobile phone; video calling with Facebook friends; and group video calling.<\/p>\n
