Hunter Davies, bi\u00f3grafo de The Beatles y autor de The John Lennon letters \u2014una compilaci\u00f3n de 250 cartas escritas por John a lo largo de su vida, que ser\u00e1 publicada en 2013\u2014, ha seleccionado 68 cartas de las incluidas en su libro y otras 10 exclusivas, para el lanzamiento de una aplicaci\u00f3n para iPad.<\/p>\n
John Winston Lennon naci\u00f3 el 9 de octubre de 1940 en Liverpool, Reino Unido. Gracias a su talento art\u00edstico consigui\u00f3 acceder a la universidad para cursar la carrera de arte; fue ah\u00ed donde conoci\u00f3 a Cinthia Powell, con quien se cas\u00f3 en 1962 y tuvieron un hijo, al que nombraron Julian. Su uni\u00f3n s\u00f3lo dur\u00f3 tres a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n
En su adolescencia, Lennon cre\u00f3 la banda de skiffle, The Quarrymen. Poco despu\u00e9s form\u00f3 The Beatles, nombre que lo inmortaliz\u00f3 en el mundo del rock.<\/p>\n
El \u00e9xito de The Beatles dur\u00f3 hasta 1970, cuando Paul McCartney decidi\u00f3 alejarse del grupo. John comenz\u00f3 su carrera como solista, fruto de ese trabajo creativo fue el disco Imagine.<\/p>\n
En esos a\u00f1os ofreci\u00f3 conciertos ben\u00e9ficos, acompa\u00f1ado por su segunda esposa Yoko Ono, quien influy\u00f3 en \u00e9l para realizar campa\u00f1as en pro de la paz y en contra de la guerra de Vietnam.<\/p>\n
El 8 de diciembre de 1980, cuando \u00e9l y su mujer regresaban de una fiesta, Mark Chapman dispar\u00f3 cuatro tiros en el pecho de John, quien muri\u00f3 mientras era llevado al hospital.<\/p>\n
