Pero este a\u00f1o, se prev\u00e9 un descenso del 3,5% en las ventas.  <\/p>\n<p>Los ni\u00f1os de hoy no ya no est\u00e1n interesados  en los juguetes, ya que simplemente son \u00ababurridos para ellos\u00bb, coinciden los analistas. Ahora al momento de escribir la carta a Santa, los ni\u00f1os piden desde un videojuego hasta un iPad.  <\/p>\n<p>Los grandes del sector apuestan a los cl\u00e1sicos que fueron \u00e9xitos. Es el caso de Hasbro, que esta temporada navide\u00f1a relanz\u00f3 Furby, la mascota electr\u00f3nica que gener\u00f3 un frenes\u00ed de ventas en todo el mundo en 1998. No es la primera vez que invierte en lo retro. En 2010 y 2003, coloc\u00f3 en las g\u00f3ndolas Mi peque\u00f1o Pony, que debut\u00f3 en 1983.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Retro toys are hot this holiday season<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Monday, the Toy Industry Association released its nominees for its 2013 Toy of the Year Awards. In the running for \u201ce-connected toy of the year\u201d is Hasbro\u2019s Furby, a robotic critter that first debuted nine years before the iPhone was invented. This year\u2019s iteration has an iOS app.<\/p>\n<p>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles make multiple appearances on the Toy Industry Association\u2019s list, nominated in the categories of top toy for boys and most successful brand growth for the year.<\/p>\n<p>Experts say there are a few reasons why these blasts from the past are suddenly hot again. Retro toys \u201ctend to be more popular in times of economic difficulty,\u201d said Gerrick Johnson, equity research analyst at BMO Capital Markets. \u201cOn both the supply and demand side, they\u2019re safe,\u201d he said. \u201cYou know it worked for one generation of kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parents with tight holiday shopping budgets might gravitate toward toys they remember enjoying a generation earlier. \u201dThis year\u2019s top toys&#8230; have some staying power, meaning children won\u2019t get bored with them within a few weeks,\u201d NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Toys typically resurface in 20- to 25-year cycles, Johnson said.
