El sitio Online University desarroll\u00f3 una infograf\u00eda donde expone como, por varias razones, es m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil encontrar a nuestra media naranja en una sesi\u00f3n de Halo Online o World of Warcraft que en Match.com o alg\u00fan sitio similar.<\/p>\n
Entre los datos m\u00e1s interesantes y divertidos de esta comparativa podemos ver que mientras un hombre intenta comunicarse con 100 mujeres promedio a trav\u00e9s del sitio Match.com, s\u00f3lo recibe una respuesta, mientras que en entornos de juegos online, el 42% de las jugadoras admiten sentirse atra\u00eddas por alg\u00fan otro jugador.<\/p>\n
Para la comparativa se hizo una encuesta dentro de la comunidad online de jugadores de World of Warcraft, donde el 74.4% de los que participaron asegur\u00f3 estar saliendo con alguien que juega en esa misma plataforma.<\/p>\n
En el global de los cerca de 12 millones de usuarios de WoW, s\u00f3lo el 14.9% son solteros. Comparado con el 43% de los americanos mayores de 18 a\u00f1os con ese mismo estado civil, esto nos demuestra que finalmente, quiz\u00e1s el amor de nuestras vidas podr\u00eda llegar a ser un Draenei o un Elfo Nocturno, o estar apunt\u00e1ndonos con su mira l\u00e1ser a la nuca en alg\u00fan FPS de combate. <\/p>\n

More WOW players dating than on dating sites<\/p>\n
As the stereotype goes, most people assume that gamers are an anti-social bunch, unlucky in love and discomforted by the presence of any member of the opposite sex.<\/p>\n
Yet, a report by the Online University has found that they are luckier in love than people think, and even playing a game such as World of Warcraft (WOW) may increase a person\u2019s chance of finding their soul mate.<\/p>\n
The survey points out that there are many more people online on WOW than the number one dating site eHarmony, with over ten million users compared to just a million. In addition, only around 15 per cent of those gamers are single. People playing WOW are logged on for much longer, around 34 hours a month compared to just 1.4 hours on a love-matching site. Only a third of eHarmony users are with someone from the site, while 75 per cent of gamers are dating someone that also plays games.<\/p>\n
While when you meet someone of the opposite sex on World of Warcraft you know that there is a niche common ground between the two of you, as opposed to dating sites where everyone harps on about how much they love books, films and long walks on the beach.<\/p>\n
In particular, 42 per cent of women gamers find themselves attracted to other players. They are a dedicated bunch too. Just under a quarter (24.3 per cent) travelled up to 30 miles to go on a date with a fellow player while a massive three-quarters (75.7 per cent) journeyed for over 100 miles.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s face it, battling trolls and demons in vast dungeons accompanied by your love interest is far more exciting than going out for a coffee or spending a couple of hours watching a chick-flick in your local cinema.<\/p>\n
There have been a number of cases of couples meeting in WOW that go on to get married in real life.
