{"id":14511,"date":"2012-02-20T22:26:19","date_gmt":"2012-02-21T06:26:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.feeling.com.mx\/site\/?p=14511"},"modified":"2012-02-20T22:26:19","modified_gmt":"2012-02-21T06:26:19","slug":"aclara-google-supuesta-violacion-a-la-privacidad-de-usuarios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.feeling.com.mx\/site\/14511\/aclara-google-supuesta-violacion-a-la-privacidad-de-usuarios.html","title":{"rendered":"Aclara Google supuesta violaci\u00f3n a la privacidad de usuarios"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/feeling.com.mx\/img\/2011\/08\/google1-300x211.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"google\" width=\"300\" height=\"211\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-10423 img-responsive \" \/>Google, considerado el mayor buscador de internet en el mundo, asegur\u00f3 que una nota manejada por un diario estadounidense describi\u00f3 de forma err\u00f3nea la supuesta violaci\u00f3n a la privacidad de sus usuarios al evitar el escudo que proporciona Apple a trav\u00e9s de su navegador Safari.<\/p>\n<p>La firma asegura que han usado una conocida funcionalidad de Safari para proporcionar, con el consentimiento del usuario, caracter\u00edsticas de su perfil cuando hab\u00edan iniciado sesi\u00f3n en Google. \u201cEs importante enfatizar que estas cookies relacionadas con la publicidad no recaban informaci\u00f3n personal\u201d, explic\u00f3 la firma.<\/p>\n<p>Agreg\u00f3 que a diferencia de otros navegadores, Safari de Apple bloquea cookies que provienen de terceros por defecto y permite muchas otras funcionalidades para sus usuarios que dependen de terceros y de las cookies de terceros como el bot\u00f3n \u201cMe gusta\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl a\u00f1o pasado, comenzamos a utilizar esta posibilidad para permitir funcionalidades en Safari a aquellos usuarios que hab\u00edan iniciado sesi\u00f3n en Google y que hab\u00edan optado por ver anuncios personalizados y utilizar el bot\u00f3n \u201c+1\u201d en aquellos temas que les pod\u00edan interesar\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Para poder habilitar estas funcionalidades, indicaron, se cre\u00f3 un enlace de comunicaci\u00f3n temporal entre los navegadores de Safari y los servidores de Google, de manera que pod\u00edan determinar cu\u00e1ndo los usuarios de Safari hab\u00edan iniciado sesi\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n en Google y hab\u00edan optado por este tipo de personalizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEsto lo dise\u00f1amos de manera que la informaci\u00f3n que pasara entre el navegador de Safari y los servidores de Google fuera an\u00f3nima&#8211; cre\u00e1ndose una aut\u00e9ntica barrera entre su informaci\u00f3n personal y el contenido por el que navegan\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el navegador Safari conten\u00eda una funcionalidad que permit\u00eda a otras cookies de Google relacionadas con los anuncios instalarse en el navegador, pero Google asegura que no anticiparon que esto pudiera pasar por lo que han comenzado a eliminar las cookies de los navegadores de Safari.<\/p>\n<p>La firma enfatiz\u00f3 en que los usuarios de Internet Explorer, Firefox y Chrome no se han visto afectados, tampoco aquellos usuarios (incluyendo los de Safari) que hab\u00edan expresado su voluntad de no participar en el Programa de Publicidad basado en intereses.<\/p>\n<p>Google sued by Safari user over privacy flap<br \/>\nGoogle Inc. officials were sued for violating users\u2019 privacy rights on Apple Inc.\u2019s Safari Web browser by bypassing computer settings designed to block monitoring of consumers\u2019 online activity.<\/p>\n<p>Google, the world\u2019s biggest Internet-search company, has been dodging privacy settings in Safari, which serves as the primary Web browser on Apple\u2019s iPhone and iPad products, lawyers for an Illinois man who uses the Safari browser said in a lawsuit filed today in federal court in Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>\u2009Since the company was founded in 1996, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have worked hard to live up to the company\u2019s unofficial motto, \u201cDon\u2019t be evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoogle\u2019s willful and knowing actions violated\u201d federal wiretapping laws and other computer-related statutes, attorneys for Matthew Soble said in the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Google has drawn regulatory scrutiny and pressure from consumer advocates for the way it handles personal information. Last year, it agreed to settle claims with the Federal Trade Commission that Google used deceptive tactics and violated its own privacy policies when it introduced its Buzz social- networking service in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Gaither, a spokesman for Mountain View, California- based Google, said in an e-mail that the company declined to comment on the suit\u2019s allegations.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers at Stanford University said today Google programmers developed codes that allowed them to avoid privacy settings created by their rivals at Cupertino, California-based Apple.<\/p>\n<p>The settings were designed to block cookies, or small pieces of code, that can be used to follow users\u2019 activities on the Web. The Wall Street Journal reported Google\u2019s actions in bypassing the privacy settings earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Soble is seeking class-action status for his suit, which was filed on behalf of individuals \u201cwhose default privacy settings on the web browser software produced by Apple, known as Safari, were knowingly circumvented by Google,\u201d according to the suit.<\/p>\n<p>Google\u2019s actions also prompted Consumer Watchdog to send a letter to the FTC today demanding action against the Internet- search provider.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSafari users with the browser set to block third-party cookies thought they were not being tracked,\u201d John Simpson, privacy project director of Consumer Watchdog, said in the letter. \u201cNonetheless, because of an element invisible to the user, but designed to mimic a form, DoubleClick was able to set tracking cookies in an obvious violation of the set preference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The allegations that Google bypassed Apple\u2019s privacy settings to gather information on user\u2019s Web browsing habits also have drawn attention from lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI fully intend to look into this matter and determine the extent to which the practice was used by Google and other third parties to circumvent consumer choice,\u201d West Virginia Senator John D.
