La cantante colombiana Shakira recibi\u00f3 el s\u00e1bado la insignia de Caballero de la Orden de las Artes y las Letras francesas dentro de uno de los actos inaugurales de la cuatrig\u00e9sima sexta edici\u00f3n del Mercado Internacional del Disco y de la Publicidad Musical en Cannes, Francia. <\/p>\n
Acompa\u00f1ada por sus padres, que no quer\u00edan perderse este importante momento, la artista se declar\u00f3 \u201cfeliz\u201d por recibir \u201cuno de los honores m\u00e1s altos en las artes y las letras, pues viene de un pa\u00eds como Francia, que tiene una herencia cultural tan importante. <\/p>\n
\u201cEs uno de los momentos que m\u00e1s honrada me ha hecho sentir en mi carrera\u201d, dijo la int\u00e9rprete de \u201cLa Tortura\u201d y \u201cSuerte\u201d. <\/p>\n
El ministro de Cultura galo, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Miterrand, fue el encargado de otorgarle esta distinci\u00f3n. Entre gritos de \u201cShakira, \u00a1querida!\u201d, el mandatario present\u00f3 a la cantante como un \u201cs\u00edmbolo de la cultura a nivel planetario\u201d, que gracias a su \u201cgenerosidad y encanto\u201d es capaz de hacer part\u00edcipe a la gente de su \u201cjovialidad\u201d. <\/p>\n
Miterrand compar\u00f3 a Shakira con otras estrellas latinas como Gloria Estefan o Jennifer L\u00f3pez y, yendo m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del discurso meramente pol\u00edtico, destac\u00f3 \u201csu combinaci\u00f3n de voz, latinidad, determinaci\u00f3n y de una ardiente femeneidad\u201d. <\/p>\n
Shakira, respondi\u00f3 al gesto del pa\u00eds galo expresando en franc\u00e9s la \u201cconexi\u00f3n especial\u201d que siente con este pueblo, por lo que, a\u00f1adi\u00f3, su coraz\u00f3n \u201ctambi\u00e9n es franc\u00e9s\u201d. <\/p>\n

Colombian singer Shakira was decorated on Saturday as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters during one of the inaugural ceremonies of the 46th edition of the International Disc Market and Musical Publishing event, or Midem, in Cannes.<\/p>\n
Accompanied by her parents who would not miss the occasion, the artist said she was \u201chappy\u201d to receive \u201cone of the highest honors in arts and letters, since it comes from a country like France, which has such an important cultural heritage.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis moment that has made me feel the most honored in my career,\u201d the singer of \u201cLa Tortura\u201d (Torture) and \u201cSuerte\u201d (Luck) said in a statement.<\/p>\n
French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand was on hand to give her the award. Amid cries of \u201cShakira, beloved!\u201d he pinned the medal on her as a \u201csymbol of culture at a planetary level,\u201d and said that thanks to her \u201cgenerosity and charm\u201d she lets people share her \u201cjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mitterrand compared Shakira to other Latin stars like Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez, and, going even further, pointed up \u201cher combination of voice, Latin style, determination and a passionate femininity.\u201d<\/p>\n
