Al cumplir los 18 a\u00f1os, fue reclutado por el ej\u00e9rcito de Estados Unidos donde sirvi\u00f3 en una base de San Diego California y estuvo a punto de participar en la guerra de Corea, pero esta, concluy\u00f3 en esos d\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde y de vuelta en M\u00e9xico, su intenci\u00f3n era dedicarse a la medicina, carrera que no concluy\u00f3 debido a que incursion\u00f3 como asistente y director de c\u00e1maras en algunos programas de televisi\u00f3n, que entonces se realizaban en vivo.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> De m\u00e1s est\u00e1 decirte que yo no nac\u00ed as\u00ed, as\u00ed me dej\u00f3 mi pap\u00e1 cuando le dije que dejaba la carrera de medicina para dedicarme a ser actor, como que no le cay\u00f3 muy bien\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Su gran oportunidad para debutar como actor se dio en el programa de \u2018Variedades\u2019 que conduc\u00eda Ramiro Gamboa, \u2018El T\u00edo Gambo\u00edn\u2019, cuando deb\u00eda interpretar un personaje de ni\u00f1o que en el libreto se llamaba \u2018Chabelo\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Fue as\u00ed como naci\u00f3 el emblem\u00e1tico personaje que lo mantuvo activo y vigente en la pantalla chica, hasta el 20 de diciembre de 2015, cuando Televisa sac\u00f3 del aire su programa \u2018En Familia con Chabelo\u2019, despu\u00e9s de 47 a\u00f1os de transmisi\u00f3n ininterrumpida.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CqN5895Ou_J\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; Adem\u00e1s de la televisi\u00f3n, Xavier L\u00f3pez trabaj\u00f3 en radio, teatro y cine; en este \u00faltimo particip\u00f3 en pel\u00edculas como \u2018Chabelo y Pepito detectives\u2019 y \u2018Pepito y la l\u00e1mpara maravillosa\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Se present\u00f3 en escenarios de Estados Unidos, Centroam\u00e9rica y Am\u00e9rica del Sur, donde hoy tambi\u00e9n es llorado. Tras la cancelaci\u00f3n de su ic\u00f3nico programa, opt\u00f3 por el total retiro provocando que en m\u00faltiples ocasiones se especulara sobre su fallecimiento. Pero, fue la ma\u00f1ana de este 25 de marzo cuando la temida noticia se hizo realidad, despu\u00e9s de que su hijo Xavier L\u00f3pez Miranda informara que se debi\u00f3 a una obstrucci\u00f3n intestinal y choque s\u00e9ptico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo fueron los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os de \u2018Chabelo\u2019?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recu\u00e9rdese que, en el 2020, el propio actor y productor confirm\u00f3 en sus redes sociales que hab\u00eda superado un c\u00e1ncer estomacal. A \u2018Chabelo&#8217;, le sobreviven su viuda Teresita Miranda con quien se cas\u00f3 en 1969, as\u00ed como sus hijos Xavier, \u00d3scar, Juan Gabriel L\u00f3pez y sus nietos.
