Aunque su divorcio será oficial hasta el 30 de junio, Katy Perry y Russell Brand ya firmaron los papeles para quedar separados y la cantante incluso puso una carita feliz a un costado de su firma.

El sitio metro.co.uk publica una imagen del documento de la Corte Superior de Los Ángeles en el que se ve la firma de Perry y la carita feliz.

Brand presentó la solicitud de divorcio a finales de diciembre y ya fue aceptada por un juez, aunque será oficial hasta el 30 de junio porque por ley deben esperar seis meses.

Aunque la cantante intentó reconciliarse con Russell hace unas semanas ahora parece feliz de concretar su separación del británico.

Por su parte, Brand expresó que no quiere el dinero de su todavía esposa, pese a que por las leyes de California y debido a que no firmaron un acuerdo prenupcial, podría obtener la mitad de la fortuna de Perry, lo que significaría unos 20 millones de dólares.

As part of the “comprehensive written settlement” reached between Katy Perry and Russell Brand, the “Fireworks” singer will keep all of her hard-earned cash and legally revert back to her maiden name, Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry began dating in late 2009 and became engaged two years ago over the New Year’s weekend. Katy Perry and Russell Brand married on Oct. 23, 2010 in a lush Indian wedding.
As part of her ‘amicable’ agreement with soon-to-be ex-husband Russell Brand, Katy Perry will walk away from the divorce with all $44 million she made while the two were married. According to California’s community property laws, Russell Brand could have possibly laid claim to half of that amount had he chosen to fight for it.

To drive home the ‘amicable’ nature of their divorce agreement, Katy Perry even signed the settlement papers on Wednesday with a tiny little happy face at the end of her name. The Russell Brand and Katy Perry divorce will not officially be finalized until June 30, to fulfill the 6-month waiting period requirement in California.
